There are two bar openings to note this week.
Chickie’s & Pete’s has opened at the Parx Casino on
Street Road in Bensalem, Pa., complete with the rad
PLAY2 gaming chamber that debuted at the South
Philadelphia location. Even non-gamers should be
impressed.

Plus, Crocodile has added a Philly link to its chain
in Old City at 110 Chestnut St., where Otium used to
be. With each beer you buy, you get a ticket that
earns you a free pizza. There’s a loungy vibe at the
Wetbar upstairs. The official grand-opening party
will be Sept. 10. Visit http://www.crocodilephilly.com

High Street Grill — We’ve been looking forward to
the sixth anniversary weekend of this craft beer and
wine jazz bar for months.

We’ll be there tonight taking shout out shots as the
winner of the months-long Beer Wars is decided. It
has come down to Unibroue vs. Heavy Seas and the
winner will get a dedicated draft beer line for a year.

Saturday will bring a prix-fixe dinner and Sunday
carries a Hawaiian shirt bon voyage party with a
contest for the most colorful Hawaiian shirt.

This all will happen at 64 High Street in Mount
Holly. Call (609) 265-9199 or visit highstreetgrill.

The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center — The
guys at Rolling Barrel are up to their beer-event
shenanigans again with another annual celebration
of local food, wine and beer event.

Saturday from noon to 3:30 p.m. the region’s
brewers, vintners and chefs will be manning
stations to present the best examples of the

Delaware Valley. The cost is $35 to $40 at 1 Liberty
Blvd., Malvern, Pa. Call (610) 296-9800 or visit

Irish Pub — If you can round up at least three
friends and drinking Budweiser all night you’ll put
yourself in the cool running to win $100,000, a trip
to Las Vegas and be part of a spread in Rolling
Stone. Just attend a Band of Buds party and answer
questions about your bud(dies). Events take place
all over the region, but the one at the Irish Pub is
from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday. It’s at 2007 Walnut St.,
Philadelphia. Call (215) 568-5603 or visit www.

The Beach Bar at Trump Plaza — Whether you love
or hate the Eagles and/or reality shows, you’ll likely
relish a chance to submerge their stars in a dunk
tank at this outdoor beach bar.

Thanks to sponsors Baccardi & Coke, former Eagles
Hugh Douglas and Ike Reese, plus 76ers announcer
Matt Cord, Craig Robinson from “The Bachelorette”
and Ashley Elmore from “The Bachelor Pad” are
volunteering to get wet for charity. Miss FHM Lauren
Harris and El Wingador of Wing Bowl fame also will
get submerged.
