If We’re Going to Die at the End of This Year, Should We Bother to go to Work?

Welcome back, world. I made two resolutions this year, which is two more than I usually make (see, “stagnant,” or “failure to launch”). The first is a personal goal: Try to stop doing things that make my boyfriend wish it had been a different single reporter who’d shown up to cover his heroic saving of orphans from a burning building the day we met. The second is professional, for the love of all things holy, please, Tara, design a website and update your blog. You’ve been successfully freelancing for seven years now. Don’t you think it’s time to move to the next level of professionalism and tacky self-promotion? Yes, I do. Good. I’m glad we agree.
